The best surf leash length depends first on the length of your board. As a simple rule, choose a leash that is close to your board length, or slightly longer for extra safety and comfort.
For shortboards and performance boards, a shorter leash keeps the setup responsive and reduces drag. For mid-lengths, softboards and longboards, a longer leash gives the board enough distance after a wipeout and offers more freedom of movement.
6’ Surf Leash - Shortboards & Performance Boards
The 6’ surf leash is the best choice for most shortboards and compact performance boards. It gives a light, responsive feeling with less drag in the water, making it ideal for fast surfing, tight turns and everyday sessions.

SQUASH, CHANNELS, 22 and smaller 53 sizes.
