We chose to color the deck of our carbon boards not just for looks, but for practical reasons. Raw black carbon absorbs heat under the sun, which can lead to board damage over time and causes wax to melt much faster—creating a mess and affecting grip during your session.
A colored deck significantly reduces heat absorption, helping to preserve the board’s structural integrity and keeping the wax stable for longer. It also maintains a cleaner, more polished look ride after ride. In short: better performance, longer life, and a better surfing experience.

We’ve kept a bit of extra volume from the tail through the front third of the board to boost paddle power and add lift in slower sections, all without sacrificing tail responsiveness. This helps generate early momentum and ensures smooth glide in softer waves.
